Justin Townes Earle at the Basement

Justin Townes Earle will be playing three nights at the Basement this week. I’m going Wednesday night.

JTE has been getting plenty of good press lately, assuming he doesn’t mind that everyone of the articles reference his father and his past rowdiness. The new Rolling Stone that came to me in the mail yesterday contained a review of “Midnight at the Movies”, the new JTE album. The reviewer gave the record 4 stars. Its not up on Rhapsody yet, so I may have to actually go out get one at Grimey's.

There were many other nuggets in that Rolling Stone, including a preview of an album of new material by Bob Dylan, an interview with Billy Joel, an article about some Springsteen artifacts being donated to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, a preview of an album of Townes Van Zandt songs recorded by Steve Earle, an in depth profile of Neko Case. The rest of you can keep an eye on this economy, I’ve got some reading to do.
